Event Recap: Broccoli City Fest 2013

My homie Courtney Jefferson, photographer and owner of clothing brand Avant Garde, and his crew hit up Broccoli City Festival 2013 out in DC. Broccoli City is an organic lifestyle media group. They push the idea of going green and living a healthy lifestyle through everything they do. They usually have their yearly Earth Day event, but this year they decided to have a festival. It was a big turn out with over 5000 people in attendance. Va$htie was the host and rappers like Big K.R.I.T. & Phil Ade performed. Durham’s own wooden jewelry brand Woodville & jewelry brand Premium Co. were even out in DC vending for the Festival. Tay of Dormtainment was even spotted in the crowd.

Major Lazer + Woodville + 89 Ideas = All this dope shit you see pictured

In collaboration with Joe Warner of 89 Ideas, Woodville created some welcoming gifts for Major Lazer and friends for their show at Cat’s Cradle in Carborro, NC last week. We presented them with a custom box full of goodies including Get Free bracelets, Mad Decent pins, Free the Universe dog tags, Gents and Jawns dog tags, Dragonette earrings, a Diplo tile necklace and a huge hand painted Jah No Partial chain.

When we first arrived at the venue we ran into Walshy Fire, a Miami based selector from Black Chiney. Walshy welcomed us with open arms and could barley contain his excitement for the new accessories we made for the group. 

Major Lazer is currently on tour throwing massive high energy shows all over the country and parts of Europe. If they come to your city and you miss their show you are seriously missing out on a great experience. If you are planning to go, please make sure you eat well before and stay hydrated because you will be partying very hard for about 2 hours or more. No drugs needed!! Just good clean fun.
